Mountain Dwarf Champions 28mm scale release

Now added to the over sixty poses in our Dwarven Hosts Range we present the last new regular release of the Spring Mega Event 2023.  Following up on DH16 Mountain Dwarfs the warriors we now have their Champions in this new code!  Great for any game system.  

These miniatures are about 24mm tall as are all of our Dwarfs in the range.  They are resin and metal as each has a seperate arm (warriors) along with weapons and shields (warriors and champions).  This means the Champions can hold any weapon you wish.

We recently restored Nick Bibby's Oriental Ogres which you can see here facing off against the Mountain Dwarves.  1980's miniatures and 2023 miniatures.  Cool!

We have many other Dwarven packs which can be had as singles within them such as Command, Adventurers, Shield Wall, Cavern Fighters, Polearms, Beserkers plus a Bombard and crew.  

Have you seen DH15 Dwarf Runic Golem?  It stands 65mm tall and goes excellently with our short and stouts as well as those in the Ganesha Games Fantasy Range.  Above it fights the P11 Old English Dragon from our Monsters and Creatures Range.

IB60 Planetary Militia Support Squad new for 28mm Ion Age

Planetary Militia is a catch all term for Planetary Defence Forces which may go by many different and at time odd names and titles. Each of these forces has its own local designation and name but every one of them is known to the Precinct as a whole by their home planet and numerical designation in case that star system has more than one inhabited world. Their primary role, and in most cases only role, is to defend their world against invasion and occupation. There is no absolute law about terms of service and each Planetary Defence Force sets its own rules. On average a man or woman may enlist upon reaching adult age and serve five full years. At the end of this options are open for life time service or reservist or even moving up into the ranks of the Muster. Every world has laws for ensuring the service of an entire population when an emergency arises though its use is very rare and only in direst need.

It is the role of the Planetary Militia to overcome internal strife, attacks by pirates or Condot Mercenaries and they must sometimes do this alone or more often with the bolstering aid of Muster and or Retained Knights from the controlling interest of that world; a Marcher Baron or the Prydian Army. Planetary Forces owe their loyalty to the Marcher Baron who controls that world.  They are often the first to encounter a Khanate incursion...  (The Khanate Return. Third title for Patrol Angis)

New miniatures this day as we complete the overhaul of the Prydian Precinct portion of the 28mm Ion Age Range (some 140 poses) and now add four more singles and their saver pack code.  The first new Planetary Militia in nearly thirty years from us.  There shall be many more to come but let us now present the new!

As with the rest of the range (Khanate Legion portion aside as we will start on those in May) for the first time the miniatures are singles.  Image of front, rear and side as you can see in the above example. These four miniatures are multiple part with separate arms allowing for a degree of posing and you can to an extend exchange arms to make more combinations.

Great for any game system including our own Ion Age Publications too.

There are now a total of sixteen different Planetary Militia miniatures with lesser command, support, rifles and cold climes too.

Balthazar and Jerome the heroes of Patrol Angis exist in 28mm scale (IB57 into IA206, IA207) as well as 15mm (IAF005) too.  Personalities for your Retained Knights in battle.

Big Painted Stock update April 2023 during Mega Event

The painting ladies at Alternative Armies are delighted to announce a BIG update to the painted and ready to use out of the box stock on the website.  The updated stock is mainly in the World of Valon (Flintloque, Slaughterloo), the 28mm High Fantasy and the 28mm Science Fiction pages.  We cast, paint, base and ship out many thousands of miniatures every year and while most of these are already committed to customers and trade accounts stock also makes it to the painted pages.

Here you can see classic 1980's Asgard sci-fi robot, Thulgs, Warbirds and more such as Mandiplex which are just now on the site to purchase painted for the first time.  The Warbirds and Thulgs are big metal models.  If you want to get that range unpainted, unassembled then visit the website.

Terrain for your battlefield painted and ready to use.  It is 28mm scale and great for Horse and Musket period or indeed Flintloque.

BR1507 Pendulum Scout Car 15mm release from Bradley Miniatures

The Pendulum provides a limited battlefield role in fire support but it is in scouting and in exo environments that it comes into its own by far. Sealed for air and for toxins the crew of three can extend communications as well as military aide.

Now added to the Bradley Miniatures 15mm Science Fiction range new Pendulum Scout Car. Joining Tanks, Towed Artillery and more.  A new pack which contains one kit in high quality resin with all parts required for one vehicle  Supplied is the main hull, six wheels, three different turret pods (Comms Dish, Gun Pod and Missile Box Pod) for your choice of load out. Assembly is required of low complexity.  When assembled this vehicle is 60mm long, 50mm wide and about 25mm tall.

A useful wheeled vehicle for operating on the moon or low gravity worlds as well as in typical recon runs.

BR040 Pendulum Scout Car 6mm release from Bradley Miniatures

New and now on the website the fortieth code in the expanding 6mm Bradley Miniatures Science Fiction Range.  Adding to an array of infantry, walkers, light to heavy vehicles, tanks, mecha and a mighty dropship we present the Pendulum Scout Car.

The Pendulum provides a limited battlefield role in fire support but it is in scouting and in exo environments that it comes into its own by far.  Sealed for air and for toxins the crew of three can extend communications as well as military aide.  Each six wheeled Pendulum is made of a single piece metal hull and sprue of three different turrets.  You choose its role.  Assembled it is 20mm long, 10mm tall and 12mm wide.

Lionsguard 6mm Powered Armour was recently expanded to three different codes.  Two of 9mm tall troopers in the heaviest armour with typical and heavier weapons plus a command set featuring officers, banner bearer and close combat specialist.  See them in BR011, BR038, BR039.

BR006 Tiger Combat Walker.  One of the first packs in the range has now been put into new fresh molds.  A useful model which comes with a sprue of parts for a choice of Rotary Cannon Arm, Twin Cannon Arm, Arm with Hand and Missile Pod. (18mm tall assembled). Plenty of build options.

Our new (and free in Every Shipped Order until 1st May 2023) any scale AS016 War Bot is 40mm tall and is excellent as a 6mm scale titan with its cockpit in the shoulder and top mounted sensor and comms cluster.  Here you can see it next to Bradley Miniatures 6mm Infantry and the ST01 Government Building (Arid World) from our own 6mm Terrain Range.

Asgard 1980's Human Male and Female Scouts 15mm restored

It is my pleasure to announce the return of eight classic 15mm sci-fi miniatures by Asgard in the early 1980's and to have them painted in new pictures by the talented Adam who goes by @wolfliche on Instagram.  Homed in the combined Laserburn and Asgard 15mm science fiction range it is a code of male scouts and a code of female scouts.

Unlike almost all of our own miniatures at Alterative Armies and indeed Laserburn and most of Asgard these miniatures are in 'strips' with their bases conjoined to be cast in metal in one piece and then snipped apart by the gamer.  Thus we are offering them as 'one strip of four' and if you select five strips you will get a nice saving on page.

Characterful miniatures great for any system and they fit right in with HOF 15mm Science Fiction range and also The Ion Age 15mm range too.  Scouts, Adventurers, Travellers, Militia or even Civilians.  It is your choice on the tabletop.

Here are the new releases for April 2023 for the World of Valon.  Use them in Flintloque or in Slaughterloo among your scenarios and battles.  Next week we will have a brand new free scenario to download but for now we introduce new Todoroni!  Two new miniatures both sculpted by Nikki Chatwin following up on his Very Limited Edition officer (VLE15). The Sapper of the Fruscati Grenadieria and a Servant. 

The Todoroni of Nepolise are allies of the Ferach Empire and serve under Emperor Mordred from Catalucia to the Witchlands.  Their army contains infantry, cavalry, artillery and more.  They feature in 5025 War in Catalucia and in 5026 Death in the Snow game books and of course in 5030 Slaughterloo.

Wulfmecha starts Flintloque with video review of 5024 Escape the Dark Czar Starter Set

It is not often we feature a video but today we are!  Hobbiest Wulfmecha has begun his fun journey into the best fantasy Napoleonic tabletop game in the world namely Flintloque!  

We have a really nice beginners set for new players (though most existing players have got it too for the great ten character miniatures it contains) which eases you into the frozen Witchlands.  The Dark Czar has sprung his trap and now the Grande Armee du Norde is broken and retreating through the snow.  See 5024 Escape the Dark Czar!  Your jumping off point for Death in the Snow.

Starvaulters the heroes pt6 28mm Ion Age overhauling

The Ion Age 28mm Range.  A million strong and the best of the best the Starvaulters sit atop the Code Gallant and the military organisation of the Prydian Precinct.  Cynue enhanced knights of proven talent and prowess they answer only to the Throne and New Glastonbury.  You can find small teams of Starvaulters in the direst of battles.  Modular 28mm miniatures overhauled with new pictures and put in as single poses for the first time too.  Sculpted by Sam Croes.

A total of eight different STARVAULTER miniatures as singles and as value packs with built in saving.  Here are there codes and some of the new pictures.

Modular miniatures refers to the fact that each Starvaulter is made up of a body, two separate arms and a back pack.  An element of posing is possible as a result.  Also every pair of arms will work with every body so if you purchase a pack or several Starvaulters you can make up your own combinations.

We are nearly complete on the overhaul of the Human Prydian miniatures in the 28mm Ion Age range with only the Female Retained and Muster plus Planetary Militia still to go.  We also have the first new pack and singles of many new to come (more on them later).  After this we will move onto the Shia Khan Empire with its Legionaries, Goblin Maligs, Human Betrayers and more.  As we are fair the original prices are totally valid on the site until that code updates with new pictures and options.
