Norman Quilted Infantry 28mm scale plus Weapons restored

Sculpted alongside the venerable Fantasy Warlord range in 1990-1991 we are proud to announce the restoration of 28mm scale historical codes. Norman Infantry (open handed) as well as a Norman Officer and a sprue of spears, two different shields and a saver full unit too.  11th Century and the time of the Conquest.

The infantry are supplied without bases and without weapons or shields just as with Fantasy Warlord. We are not sure who sculpted these miniatures and would welcome input in that regard.  Restored by wargamer request and now in new molds as well.  Fresh and clean.

We have created a new page just as we did with our 28mm Jacobite Scottish Range.  We will not be expanding these classics we have simply restored them as we have with Laserburn for wargamers to enjoy on the table or to complete their collections. Each of the five infantry poses are slightly different and can be had as five with a saving or choose singles. The officer is on his own with sword and shield included and the Spears, Kite Shield and Round Shield are in packs of five.

There is a full unit code NOU01 Norman Quilted Infantry Unit (20) which has a baked in saving and also comes with spears and kite shields; that is an officer with nineteen mixed of five poses of infantry.

Ogres from the Oldhammer Collection of OliHot27

We are delighted to be able to show you some painted miniatures from the extensive ‘oldhammer’ collection of OliHot27 over on Instagram. He is a keen collector of the restored Asgard Fantasy Monsters Range but this time it is his VNT Alternative Armies and Fantasy Warlord castings of Ogres that are the subject.  

The Alternative Armies VNT (Various Nasty Things) codes are VNT18 Orrid Ogres II and VNT19 Ogre Cavalry sculpted by Phil Lewis in 1991 while the Fantasy Warlord are 16100 Ogres from 1990.  All are metal except for the riding rhino which is now presented in resin. 

The painting style of OliHot27 suits these classic miniatures really well and his Instagram is well worth a dig through for a look.  We were most happy to be given permission by him to use his pictures on our website too.

New 28mm ten open hand Skeletons plus Undead Weapons and Shields

In the service of a great Necromancer we present added to our large Undead Legions Range and to the classic Fantasy Warlord Range the Summoned Skeletons along with Undead weapon and shield sets. These bone fellows can be outfitted with anything you choose placed into their hands or on their backs or waists.  Use in any 28mm game system. Sculpted by Sam Croes there are five typical Skeletons and five armoured ones.

Inspired by our respect of the 1990 Fantasy Warlord Range whose miniatures which are all open handed and (aside from the characters) are supplied without weapons we have made something often asked for which features in that rule set and was created by magics; Summoned Skeletons.  

In these pictures you see them ‘assembled’ with weapons and shields as examples of what can be done with the new codes.

VNT57 Summoned Skeletons: This pack of five different 28mm metal open handed skeletons is supplied without weapons or shields.  You can choose from the pack or poses within it on the page.  Minions of a dark overlord.  Combine with with VNT51 and VNT59.

VNT58 Summoned Armoured Skeletons: This pack of five different armoured open handed skeletons in 28mm scale.  They are supplied without weapons or shields.  Choose from the pack or poses within it on the page.  Superior minions of a dark overlord. Combine with with VNT51 and VNT59.

VNT51 Undead Weapon Sprues:  This code contains three metal sprues of weapons suited to Skeletons, Zombies and other Undead creatures.  Each sprue holds its weapons on a trio of skull motifs which you can use for your projects as decorations or armour adds.  Weapons are Halberd, Spear, Long Sword (2H),Sword, Axe, Mace, Bow and Quiver and lastly Crossbow and Quiver.  Set of all with a saving or choose singles on the page.  

VNT59 Undead Shield Sprues:  This code contains two metal sprues of shields rotted for Skeletons and Zombies.  Each sprue has its shields mounted on a trio of skull motifs which you can use for your projects as decorations or armour adds.  Shields are Oval, Kite, Round Bossed Wooden, Round Plain Plate and Round Wooden. Set of all with a saving or choose singles on the page.

Lastly have you seen our 80mm tall Giant Skeleton?  It is an easy to assemble metal kit which comes with its fallen self (5 resin pieces) included for free!  A great centre piece for your army.

Knight of Dresda released into 28mm High Fantasy range

"Look at 'em. Prancing about with their fancy stuff lording it over us coz they have aspirations and such. Yeah, I know we are standing in the front ranks with the pikes in our hands and cheap broad cloth on our backs. But its an honest trade so it is; soldiering for your lord. Not like those jumped up fopdoodles behind us trying to climb into his lordship's lap. Them lads will come to a sticky end mark me words. FL7-03 Knight of Dresda

This code contains two 28mm metal miniatures which when assembled at some 50mm tall. These miniatures are not supplied with bases and are supplied unpainted. Choose from a pack or three packs with a 10% saving applied. A plate armoured knight with axe and shield as well as a horse with saddle and caparison to which any design can be applied for heraldry.  The knight on foot shown is not included and comes from pack FL12 and is pose 5 therein.  Go HERE.

Fantasy Warlord classic 28mm range at Alternative Armies

Now returned to Alternative Armies the classic blister pack range for Fantasy Warlord. A much loved high fantasy game system from 1990 for which Alternative Armies produced 28mm scale white metal miniatures. At popular request there is a new page on our website where you can find the Humans, Elves, Orcs, Goblins, Ogres and Dwarfs characters as well as multi packs of infantry and weapon sprues and shields; now back in production. Out picture shows 26000 Ogre Hero painted up by Alternative Armies studio. Go HERE or read on for more. 

The miniatures for this range are in three distinct sections. Characters, Multi-Packs and Weapons. We are using the original codes and here follows the list of what we have. Please note these miniatures use separate weapons and have integral bases (they are not 'slotta base' type figures) and while characters come with a weapon and sometimes a shield included the multi-packs do not come with weapons and you should choose the weapon sets you desire while ordering. Multipack Troops. Each of the packs listed here contains five 28mm scale white metal miniatures. These are one piece figures which are supplied without bases or weapons (except in the case of 16100 Ogres which are supplied with two sprues of Ogre Weapons). Shields Pack. There are two shield packs containing 28mm white metal shields for any wargame system. They are split into 'Good Orientation' and 'Evil Orientation' packs and you may select from the pack single shields. The codes for these are NEW CODES and this removal of shields from the weapon packs was done to aid wargamers in choosing their equipment for Multi-Packs as many wargamers did not wish for shields with the weapon sprues. This way a wargamer may choose any shield they wish in any quantity they desire.
