Female Fir Bolg Slinger released for Erin Celtic Myth

With the classic Erin range fully returned to the website and CM26 Streng hero of the Fir Bolg released we now begin our regular releases into the range which will continue each month.  The first female and first missile weapon armed Fir Bolg to join your warband to battle the evil Fomorians, the magical Sidhe or even the mere mortal Milesians.  Now eighty seven miniatures in the range HERE.

There are now a dozen Fir Bolg miniatures with ten being warriors and one named hero.  We aim to expand the people of the bag to a full faction with a value warband such as that we have for the other races by the spring.

A single Erin metal miniature supplied unpainted, unassembled (if required) and without a base.  See CM26, CM20 and CM21 codes for other Fir Bolg.

We currently have three Warband saver packs which give you a group of miniatures including a hero, champion and warriors for your choice of faction with one miniature free (10% off single prices).

By customer request a paid digital download the 2005 game book for Erin Celtic Mythology.  This book has been out of print for several years and will not return in print as we are working towards a third edition.  This edition is far, far off and thus this title is offered at a much greater reduction as a download to tide you by until then.  See it in the Erin Range or among the array of Digital Download Books on the website.

Erin 2nd Edition has an easily learned 2D6 based rules system that is scenario driven with a normal game lasting between one and two hours in play. The game book features full rules, no need for expansions, create and advance your characters and creatures using a full points and warband and hero generation system. Also a full Druidic Magic system and all needed rules for Chariots, Horses, Gods, Enchanted Animals and Monsters. A full and detailed narrative of the history of Erin and sections detailing the nature of each of the five main peoples of Erin. Includes three made scenarios and a short section for inclusion of a fictional Roman Invasion of Erin. Generate scenarios, the landscape and even the weather and then use the mini campaign section to manage your warband between games.  (106 pages.  With a few pages removed and reordered).

New print runs bring books into stock January 2022

Back at the start of the month we told you in the news announcement that four books out of print would have new print runs made here in Scotland and be returned to the website.  

This has now happened and you can find all of our books on the WEBSITE in one page or their own ranges plus DIGITAL PAID DOWNLOADS of many of these titles on their own page too.

Patrol Angis the core book in its series is back in print and it gives you skirmish rules for The Ion Age.  Get it in print or as a digital title as well as its sequels Callsign Taranis and The Khanate Return HERE on the website.  There is also a game pack which comes with the book plus miniatures and a free extra unique Knight Errant miniature and free bases too.  See the 15mm Ion Age range for all the miniatures and you can play it with the 28mm Ion Age miniatures too.

The classic Laserburn 15mm scale science fiction skirmish rules are back in print.  See them as well as two other titles for the game and the miniatures range on the website.  

Escape the Dark Czar the beginners introduction to Flintloque is back in print.  As part of the ten miniature game pack or on its own you get core rules plus characters and scenarios to set you off on Valon in the frozen hell of the retreat from Moskova.  Go to the Begin in Flintloque page for this and free content and suitable miniatures.

The forth game book in the Flintloque series is back in print.  Bier and Bones covers the central Urop theatre of the Mordredian Wars.  The battles between the Ferach Empire and the Ostarian Empire as well as Krautia and the petty stattes of the Confederation of Finklestein.  Get it in print and as a digital download as well as a shilling starter pack with miniatures.  The current Bier Wars project to create the entire army of the Legion de Nain is set in this title.

Legion de Nain new Artillery Crews released for Flintloque

The brand new releases for Flintloque and Slaughterloo this month give the big guns to the Legion de Nain.  Two versions of an artillery crew with limber beasts choosing limber boars or limber pigs.  The gunners with boars are above with 59527 Ferach Grand Howitzer.  The legion now has near seventy poses of Dwarf and you can read all about it on our blog using the Bier Wars TAB. Five returned codes for Flintloque featuring Undead and Elves

Alternative Armies is delighted to present five more returned codes for the World of Valon.  As teased on Orcs in the Webbe before Christmas these five cover a new changed pose in the Elf Column as well as remastered Moskova Volunteers and altered Todoroni Casualty within the 777th Croaked Line.  Follow the links in this article to find these miniatures which have also been given the ability to select single poses on the website page as well as pack or unit.  We have also reduced the price of some poses.

55007 Moskova Volunteers – A classic pack which contains four different skeletons with carbines which has now been remastered with minor pose alterations and strengthening.  The lowest of the low troops for the Dark Czar.  Pack and single pose choice now and also a reduced price per miniature.  

55005 Latrinislav Command – A classic pack with the original command poses for the Undead of the Witchlands.  Great for many uses now in new mold and with single pose choice on the page.

55508 Zombie Line Infantry – Perennial favourites and core of all players who field the Army of the Dark Czar.  Eight different Zombies in great coat with shako and a musket.  New molds and minor pose alterations.  Pack with reduced price or a full twenty eight miniature unit with command element and saving or single miniature choice.

55520 777th Croaked Line – Not all Zombies are formally Elves oh no.  Todoroni marching into the Witchlands and have been turned, by the Graviski Reanimator, into fodder for the Dark Czar.  Nine different poses including the only Todoroni Vampyre and Liche.  New molds and now with single pose choice on page and reduced price on several poses.   Additionally the recently dead or recently risen Todoroni in this code has been altered to make its legs thicker.

5103 Velite Grenadiers de la Garde Mordred -  The mighty Elf Column as painted by Jerry Frazee now has new molds as well as an altered pose (5103B Banner Bearer) now included.  New images and select any one of the twelve poses as a single miniature too.  Central to any Elf player's forces and Slaughterloo divisions.

Flintloque painted by Mark Taylor January 2022

Welcome!  It is our great pleasure to present to fans of Flintloque and Slaughterloo some of the excellently painted miniatures from Mark Taylors collection.  Our thanks to him and enjoy.  On our blog click on the pictures to make them much larger and follow links if you like any of the figures.

We begin with Elves of Armorica the prime movers in the Mordredian Wars.  From left to right an Elf Voltiguer of the original 5001 Flintloque boxed set, a gunner from the 5101 Artillerie Cheval converted to hold a pistol, two Elf cavalry on foot taken from the 5005 Lady Wintermore's Fangs excellent set.  Lastly a veteran Elf of the 5103 Grenadier Garde de la Mordred the 'column' set.

The dead walk...in ranks!  In the frozen Witchlands the re-animated dead fight for the Dark Czar.  55508 Zombie Line carry their muskets and are joined by gunners and the officer from the 55501 Corpseov Artillery Crew.

For the Elves of Armorica light troops are vital in fighting any enemy.  Skirmishing ahead of the marching columns of infantry the 5001 Voltiguers with their tall plumes are led by an officer and sergeant of the 51518 Chassuers.

In the Garde the colours of the battalion are guarded by Elves armed with pikes and with axes such as the soldier from 5103 (pose D).  Dark Elves are enemies of the Ferach and they have some style such as the leader of 51001 Dark Elf Guerillas alongside the 53016 Hob Goblin Miser.  The men, even Elves, will get thirst and hungry so they desire the services of the 51048 Elf Vivandiere or that of the Surgeon from the 51503 Elf Field Hospital.  

Standing firm against the predations of the Ferach Empire the mighty power of Greate Britorcn has legends among its troops.  From the newest 54057 Major Giglamps to the original Captain Sharke and Sergeant Harpy from 5001 Sharkes Rifles.  Lastly a sergeant armed with axe bladed spontoon from 54510 Orc Guard some big lads!

One company in every Orc Battalion is that of the grenadiers.  Typically the meanest Orcs and these 54509 Orc Grenadiers are excellent troops.

Some officers are heroes, some are aggressive or cowardly but this 54506 Orc Command officer is rather dastardly (he is certainly plotting something).  58503 Orc Deserter Infantry is an eclectic mix of soldiers who have defected to Obidiah's Deserter Army and in this case Mark has painted up his one armed artillery orc in his blues.  There are many small packs of Orc Infantry from different regiments of foot and here is a running soldier of 54007 62nd Foote Centre Company.  Rifleorc Tunge a classic from 5001 Sharkes Rifles. 

Lastly we have one of my favourite miniatures in the whole massive array of Flintloque miniatures a dismounted 54013 Orc Dragoon armed with a pistol; he could be a trooper or an officer.  There are many limited edition miniatures from the original Obidiah to the latest General Koda and Aide this is the VLE08 Orc Chaplin who features in 5027 Grapeshotte rules. 54019 Albion Marines such as those who serve upon the flag ship of Admiral Nelsorc can be asked for their opinions by that rarest of things a literate Orc such as 54502 Orc Camp Followers reporter 'Michal Beorc'.

FM13 Owl Bear fantasy monster by Asgard returns

The first returned classic of the Fantasy Monster range by Asgard in the 1980's is now on its new range page of the website.  Alongside the Asgard Barbarians and the collectors sets such as the Orc Rock Band and the Orc Family Outing we will be putting everything in the 25mm or 28mm scale returned Tabletop Games and Asgard ranges HERE.  This is our sole fantasy release in this scale in January 2022.  We present to you the Owl Bear!

FM13 Owl Bear: This creature is a single piece remastered metal miniature which is 40mm tall from sole of foot to the top of its head.  A great many uses and a real classic monster.  Supplied unpainted and without a base.  

Painted in our studio you can see it above next to our campfire from the 28mm Terrain Range which has a great many items of use on the battlefield such as barricades and abandoned wagons plus tents and more.

While we have other bear like Owls (VNT8 Grizzy Owls) in our High Fantasy range it is in our Alternate Stars 28mm science fiction range where you will find AS011 Uhul Warrior with Laser Cannon which is our most recent take on the creature.

MFM17 Flying Reptile with Wraith Rider returns

It is our great delight to reveal the first release of 2022 this January and its the first of a great many returned classics.  Added to the Tabletop Miniatures 15mm Range (which contains both Tabletop Games and Asgard 1980's miniatures) the Flying Reptile with Wraith Rider.  There are now some sixty five miniatures returned in this range which covers Dungeon Adventurers, Dwarves, Undead, Monsters, Creatures and more.  There are also some great value saver skirmish packs.

MFM17 Flying Reptile with Wraith Rider: A denizen of pure evil rides upon a creature that feasts upon the flesh of the dead and living alike.  This code contains one 15mm scale model in three pieces these being the body of the reptile, the wings of the reptile and the sitting wraith in robes.  The assembled model is 60mm long and 40mm wide at longest and widest points.  You can choose from the pack or you can select the creature on its own or the rider on its own.

Supplied unpainted and unassembled.  Sculpted in the early 1980's and an original Asgard code.

The mummified wizard on throne now re-mastered into resin with a lower price is a great 15mm scale piece for your collection.  See it in the Tabletop 15mm Fantasy range.

Alternative Armies News for January 2022

Following on from the festive break and with us now open once more and shipping globally from today lets have a wee peek at what is coming your way this month.  News on all of this will appear as it happens and there are links here to the pages of the site where the new codes and other items will be. The Erin Celtic Myth range will see a new miniature as the Fir Bolg expand (following up on Streng the Hero) the first female Fir Bolg!  The classic Asgard Fantasy range now has its own page on the site and will have the first returned monster FM13 Owlbear and also a return of the MFM17 Flying Reptile with Wraith Rider in the classic Tabletop 15mm Fantasy range as we kick off getting much more of this great range returned into the world.  For Flintloque and Slaughterloo the Legion de Nain continues its entire army expansion with an artillery crew of six Dwarves and choice of either limber Pummilig Pigs or Limber Boars as with the Legion Cavalry; players who use 5027 Grapeshotte rules will be happy!  Lastly four titles which went out of print during November will return; Patrol Angis, Laserburn, Bier & Bones and beginner booklet Escape from the Dark Czar.
