Slaughterloo Battle Report from Two Sides!

The view from the Ferach Empire table edge
Over the past couple of months I have been watching two wargamers that have been getting into Slaughterloo with great interest.  This interest came not only out of my normal huzzah's for all players of our games but also because I could actually watch each army be purchased, painted and raised ready for last weekend.  The result are two superb blog posts each with a different point of view on a Slaughterloo After Action Report (AAR).

The view from the Grand Alliance table edge at the same moment!
These are two really high quality blog posts one from Brummy Lad's World of Painting and the other from The Conflict Cornucopia.  Both with very interesting text looking at game mechanics and play progression and also a very large number of photographs.  We all love photos of painted miniatures and these look very nice as they cross the wargaming table turn by turn.  I have include a couple of shots without favouritism!

Its great to see Slaughterloo games online and reported in this fashion.

Thanks for Reading.

  1. Thanks very much for your interest in our little project and for posting on your blog about it.

We started off aiming for 1000 points each, which is what I painted up for my army, but some fortuitous eBay purchases meant my friend came into possession of some extra painted figures. How could we not play a 2000 point game in such a circumstance!

It was a great experience! Our next game will be 1500, just slightly smaller so we can focus more on understanding some of the nuances of the mechanics (of which there are many!).

    Thanks again, Gavin!

    Regards

    1. Thanks for your comment Chris. I was very impressed by your project and its good to see it come true. I look forward to seeing more on your blog. I am sure the Slaughterloo world will grow on you even more and remember you can use the miniatures to play Flintloque too. GBS

    2. Funny you should mention that... I started off with Flintloque but quickly found myself wanting to play Slaughterloo. And of course, following the work for the first battle I find myself with an interesting choice of sections to use on Flintloque! I can see the cycle continuing in this way!

    3. Almost like we planned it that way :-) Some players never leave skirmish and others never leave battle but a mix is good for most. GBS
