Sengoku Monster Hunter expansion Rampage now released in print and as digital download

Written by Steve Danes and with artwork from Sam Croes and John Bell the expansion title to Sengoku Monster Hunter is now shipping worldwide in print after its pre-order offer and we are delighted now to release the book as a paid digital download too. The digital download version of this title is twenty percent less in price than in print as with our other digital books.  Go HERE for all our digital titles.

If you are not familiar with Sengoku Monster Hunter then you can read all about it on our website HERE.  It is a tabletop game in 15mm scale for one to four players where you take the part of a Hunter and seek out Japanese Mythological creatures who are terrorising the countryside.  The very nature of the game makes every play of it different and it has a loyal following.  The Sengoku 15mm Japanese Fantasy miniature range sculpted by John Bell has over one hundred and thirty different miniatures and its growing.  So what can you expect to find in the fifty two pages of Rampage?  Here is a run down with a couple of page images.  Go HERE to see those and more pages larger.

Rampage is the second book in the Sengoku Monster Hunter series; the game set in a mythical Japanese past of fierce monsters and even fiercer monster hunters. This is a supplement to the original rules and it provides much more material for playing Sengoku Monster Hunter. Players will need to be familiar with the original rules and will of course need the first book to be able to make use of Rampage.

More Monsters More Encounters
This includes a whole new batch of monsters such Rokurokubi, Tsurube-Otoshi, Nurikabe, Snakemen and more. There are also a whole new set of profiles for the various demons and devils that can be encountered, obviously all more powerful than those previously described - but with greater risks comes greater rewards! Also included are a new set of encounters that can be played out during the hunt such as the Soba Shop, Mile Markers, Police, Komuso Monks and many others. These new encounters will provide an interesting array of new challenges, distractions and even some benefits to the hunters on their expeditions.

New Hunters
As well as new monsters and new encounters, these rules contain new hunter types including the shape shifting Yokai and the dreaded Water Shadow Clan. Players who are familiar with the game and have their own favourite hunters can try their luck with these new characters and the new skills and abilities that they bring. This book also includes five new named characters, legendary hunters of old who continue to inspire new generations of hunters. Players can take these characters from their humble origins and turn them into the heroic hunters that they became.

New Hunting Grounds
These rules provide extensive details about a new hunting ground that players can try out - the dreaded wave washed caves of the Underworld. In this gloomy underground realm, not only are the hunters at risk from the hostile denizens of the caves but there is the dark and dangerous environment of the caves themselves with the ever present risk of rock falls, floods and the other more sinister consequences of the little understood Ghost Light. Only the bravest hunters will try out this new and hostile environment.

Monster Rampage!
Contained within these rules is a new way to play Sengoku. This is still a solo game but as the heading suggests, now the hunters face a different challenge, now there are more monsters, now it is the monsters that are on the attack. To coin a phrase - “now the hunters become the hunted”. Players may wish to ignore this section because it contains information that will put their cherished hunters at severe risk. In a Monster Rampage, hordes of monsters will try and overwhelm the stealthy hunter and exact severe and bloody retribution. I won’t be offended if players choose to avoid this section. But if players do take up this challenge they will find six new hunting scenarios plus additional material such as monster spells and all manner of other nastiness. You have been warned…

Kitton a new 28mm range of Fantasy Catmen begins!

Alternative Armies is delighted to bring to you a new expansion to the World of Valon.  Kitton!
See all articles for this range on our blog by clicking HERE.

Far from Urop and beyond the Mordredian Wars away from the battle between the Ferach Empire and the alliances against it is a land almost sealed off from the rest of Valon. Sealed by fate and by the tumult caused by the shattering of the bonds of Wylde Magicke.  This land is called Kitton home of the Kitoka.  The Kitoka lived in harmony with the mountainous land around them and under the sway of the strange creatures which inhabited its forests, streams and fields but that was before the great war. Started by the shattering of the laws of Wylde Magicke this war brought chaos to Kitton and great tumult in nature.  This war ended with the titanic battle of Sekimeowara which saw the Kitoka victorious against arrayed magicke creatures.  The war resulted in the rule of the Tiddlesgawa Shogunate.  The feline Kitota live in a rigid society topped by the Daimyo lords then the Samurai warriors, the Ashigaru soldiers below them then the merchants and peasants and the outcast Ronin most lowly of all.  Skirmishes between Daimyo are common as are bandit raids and attacks by monstrous yokai too.  Welcome to Kitton!

We introduce to you the latest expansion in the World of Valon.  It is rather different in flavour for though it occurs at the same time as the rest of the 4th Age of Valon it is distant to the Power Ring and science.  We begin with two packs of Kitoka Ronin.  Outcast former Samurai who are perfect core for your building band of characters.  Highly detailed metal 28mm scale miniatures depicting Japanese inspired Catmen sculpted by our lead designer Sam Croes.  From these two packs totalling eight miniatures we will be releasing more codes each month as we populate the islands of Kitton. Go HERE. These are the new miniatures!

In much the same manner as Flintloque itself came into being we will be growing the Kitton range before we release a beginners set similar to 5024 Escape the Dark Czar.  It is our intent to get to the beginners set and then beyond it with soldiers, civilians, female miniatures and monsters too.  Skirmish gaming is the aim.  I know what you are thinking next...mass battle and yes we have factored in units to lead to a 5030 Slaughterloo level of play.  It is a long term project but much like our first Contender GNAT 15mm mech which is a first with more to follow and new game books such as Doom Squad with titles to come Alternative Armies is committed to tabletop gaming!

Kitton has its own new page on our website where all miniatures, articles, links and so forth will appear.  Visit it HERE.

Lastly as you may know Alternative Armies offers pro-painted and based miniatures ready to ship on our website. Our talented team of ladies here in Scotland add codes to their pages on the site weekly and right now they have limited stock of these two new Kitton packs just released. If you want your figures ready to use out of the box at a great price see HERE.

Thank you for reading and if you have questions please do ask us on sales@alternative-armies.com and we will be happy to help you.

Security Force Alpha just got a major upgunning! As if more than a platoon of infantry poses plus specialised troops, battlesuits, bikes, portable weapons, light and medium vehicles plus drop pods and drop coffin were not enough now the GNATS are here.

HOF131 Contender GNATS Mech
This 15mm scale high quality resin kit contains all the pieces needed to assemble the Contender GNATS.  Standing at 100mm tall when assembled the Contender has eleven pieces which create a durable model made for use on your gaming table.  GNATS stands for 'Giant Neuro Assist Titanic Soldiers' and they are the ultimate weapon of battle.  The model is easy to assemble.  It is supplied unpainted and unassembled without a base (base shown is a 59527 75mm Round).  Refer to the parts image to see what is included.  Other miniatures from the HOF range are shown for scale only (SFA Trooper is 16mm tall).  The Contender is armed with a twin barrel 90mm automatic cannon with ammo hopper plus an under arm 130mm howitzer and a top hull turret seven slot missile pod.  It also has a number of point defence lasers for small scale anti-infantry and material tasks both front and rear. It has rocket pods fitted to its rear to allow easy balance and stance regaining.  Contenders are front line units in the USGC (United States GNATS Core). It is a tier two GNATS meaning it is a main battle size machine. It is 2090 and the world is at war! Go HERE.

HOF140 Meerkat Spotter Suit
This 15mm scale battlesuit kit contains all of the pieces needed to assemble the specialist Meerkat Spotter Suit.  Standing 30mm tall when assembled the Meerkat has seven pieces.  A distant relative of the BearCat Battlesuit this model is easy to assemble.  It is supplied unassembled and unpainted without a base (base shown is a 59025 30mm Round).  Refer to the parts image to see what is included.  Other miniatures shown are for scale only.  The Meerkat is armed with a rotary gatling and a three round striker missile pod.  Its primary mission is to use its powerful comms array with its two aerials to seek out enemy strong points and to relay that information to heavier units.  Often paired with GNATS the Meerkat can be a valuable ally in the field.  Go HERE.

There will be more information on GNATS as well as the near future world of the 2080's in which these giants of war face their foes.  In the meantime if you have questions please do ask us on sales@alternative-armies.com. These are all of our 15mm releases for the month of September and thank you for your custom.
