Tabletop Fun June 2022

Across the world and the internet tabletop gamers, collectors, painters and players show off their miniatures and models bought from us or from our stockists such as Noble Knight Games. While the vast majority of these pass us by sometimes a kindly soul will show us their hobby results. Click on each picture on our blog to make it larger. 

 

 

In this round up are six such results ranging from 15mm Historicals to 15mm Science Fiction, to The Ion Age as well as Flintloque and 28mm Fantasy. Where possible names and links have been provided and in each case a link to the website is present. Enjoy! 

 

 

Tim Cook's Banneret of the Fleet! Tim painted up this 28mm Ion Age Miniature (IA002 in IB1 Retained Knights pack) as a Varlet Standard for his collection. He took several attempts at it but told us that he is happy with the effects and the basing he achieved. We agree! 

 

 

The Failed Apprentice painted by Heroic Miniatures (see them on Instagram) a one piece miniature CA1-05 from The Wizard's Progress pack. Painted in a night time dead flesh scheme using Vallejo colours to be a Necromancer's aide perhaps. He gives more details on his account. But yuck! That really works. 

 

 

The gallant South Mordor Regiment by Dances with Gnomes (see him on Instagram) his Slaughterloo Orc Line Unit using a photo editing program. One of the more famous regiments in the Army of Albion in a fierce battle with Armorican Elves and Diberian Werewolves. Featuring a scratch built Sergeant Obidiah speaking into his shako you can have your own unit with 54503 Orc Line including an officer and colour party. 

 

 

Cai-Z popped up on the mighty 15mm Science Fiction group on Facebook and kindly permitted the use of this picture from his growing collection. HOF155 Dominator Sphere on the attack amid a lovely looking landscape. All those limbs will give anyone a hard time in combat! 

 

Wargrunt Art (find them on Facebook) recently increased their 15mm historical forces with elements of Visigoths taken from our Isarus Dark Age Goths range. Lovely work on these and we often do not see these painted up. We hear he is now working on a Hun Army too. 

 

 

This just in by Tony Aguilar for his DBA Army of the Konstantinian Byzantine list two stands of mounted Norman Knights. Lovely stuff and restored Tabletop Games 15mm range you can see in the Israrus pages of the website. Tony has added artillery and infantry to his army and it is looking very strong.

Legion de Nain Dwarf divisions new for Slaughterloo

It gives us great delight to announce not only two more Divisional Army Packs (DAP's) added to the Slaughterloo mass battle selection (making more than twenty to choose from each saving 15% off single purchases) but also the conclusion of the Legion de Nain army project! Slaughterloo uses the exact same miniatures as Flintloque with the same basing conventions except that instead of sections of characters it is ranks in units to make a division. While some skirmish players do not move onto battle level play many do once they have infantry as well as cavalry, command and artillery. Each of the two new divisions contains two units of 20 Legion de Nain Line as well as 20 Legion de Nain Grenadiers and 12 Legion de Nain Skirmishers. They have 10 Uhlan Lancers and a 6 miniature gun crew plus 2 limber beasts and 1 mounted Commander. Lastly 4 Legion de Nain casualties, 1 Ferach Grand Howitzer with Limber as well as all the needed infantry and cavalry bases. You save 15% off single miniature prices and while 52604 Legion de Nain Dwarf Division has Pummilig Pigs the other 52605 Legion de Nain Dwarf Division has Boars as mounts. 

 

Here are both divisions laid out with all their content miniatures (bases not shown). Every Dwarf is a character in his own right with eight poses for each infantry unit and all gunners, commander and casualties being different poses for each miniature supplied. Lovely! 

 

 

If you decide to move into Slaughterloo you can get its mighty book (the biggest ever made for the World of Valon) in print and as a digital download too. Every warring nation has its own 'DAP' which will get you on the table and indeed is suitable to be broken up for Flintloque sections too as some players do to gain the saving. 58019 Kitoka Ashigaru Command released for Kitton range

The thirteenth pack in the expanding 28mm fantasy Kitton range is here and gives low level command to the Catfolk.  There are now more than forty poses in the range covering Ashigaru with many weapons, Samurai, Ronin all with various weapons as well as Villagers and a Dragon. Go HERE.

Part of the wider Flintloque setting of the World of Valon the Kitoka are on track to get their own setting and core rules during 2022 as projects have now resumed with USEME micro titles.  We hope to show some artwork during this summer.

58019 Kitoka Ashigaru Command:  This pack contains four different poses of Catman in Ashigaru armour.  A bare headed officer sword raised and separate sword bundle, officer with sword at the ready and separate sword bundle.  A musician with arms raised holding drum sticks (separate sword bundle) which goes along with another musician who with back mounted Taiko Drum and separate sword bundle. You can choose from pack or poses with in it using the lettered poses in the picture.  As with all other Valon miniatures these are supplied with our resin cartouche bases for free.

DRG5 Ki-Shu Oriental Dragon: Creatures of guardianship and friendship as much as destruction the oriental dragon is a potent symbol and a great model to use in your games. This monster comes in three parts (body, left arm and right arm) made of metal and is easy to assemble. It stands 55mm tall and was recently re-mastered from the original dawn of the 90's sculpt by Steve Trickett.

Alternia of The Ion Age free during June 2022 and month news

'It is important to note that the creation of the Prydian Army actually contributed greatly to the rise of both Yordan and Canlaster. Before the formation of the Army the Marcher Barons had little room for movement, they could hire mercenaries and police their own worlds but the Starvaulters kept them in check. Taking men and women from the planets of the barons and giving them so much training and weaponry only stoked the fires of civil war. Certainly the hundreds of new regiments put down the rebels for several years but then they became rebels themselves as their loyalty was first to their baron and not the throne. Granted not all of the regiments abandoned the throne. Those that stayed loyal have done an excellent job of fortifying the whole Glastonbury system which has kept us safe from the war up to this point but we have very much been the architects of our own demise. We were warned by many but we chose to ignore them all. Kadj Dace got what he wanted; not by the means he planned but by accident of design. Prydia is aflame and none among us can stop it.' This month our mascot is inspired by the mighty Ion Age 28mm range and setting. In the armour of a female Retained Knight she fits right in with the hundreds of other Ion Age miniatures suitable for any game system including MOTH and Firefight 2.0. In two pieces (separate back jet pack) she is armed with an Angis Rifle and a powered halberd. Her helm sits at her feet and her hair flows over her shoulders. Her pauldron is emblasoned with the AA arrowhead too. Use her in the Prydian Army or in the service of the Marcher Barons and Condot Mercenaries. She is painted up here as a Condot Mercenary. 

 

If you missed any of the previous Alternia's they are, as promised, on the website for purchase as single miniatures. There are now a total of seven including the original high fantasy pose. 

 

 

There is a very wide array of miniatures, vehicles and more in the Ion Age 15mm range. The Patrol Angis Game has three different books as well as a game pack with saving and free extra Knight Errant figure. Have a BROWSE and every pack offers the choice of single poses from it in any quantity. 

 

 

Alternative Armies News for June 2022 

This is a science fiction heavy month with us and we begin with our free Alternia as you have seen but also with a notice about dear 'RUFUS' (above). Robotic Unit Fighting or Utility Servant; used by merc crews and brigantines as added muscle. At 40mm tall it is useful in 28mm, 15mm and 6mm settings. AS013 has been re-mastered and is one of the many codes in our DEALS AND OFFERS page for savings of 5% to 20% or more off regular prices. 

 

 

There is also IA103 Noble of Prydia a large power armoured commander re-mastered and now on the site on offer from The Ion Age range which stands 36mm to top of head. 

 

We will have new Ion Age images of the Betrayers as well as the Planetary Militia and some other codes all painted up for you to see as well as a brand new release of the first ever 28mm female retained knights as a semi-modular pack and singles. Much like the recent Starvaulters (IB55 and IB56). To go alongside these new retained knights there will also be a new female personality low rank officer to lead them. Very much a ladies parade during June and we will let you know as it occurs. 

 

Following up in the expanding Kitton range which had its first musket armed Catfolk there is another new pack this month giving you Command for your Ashigaru including a two piece drum and drummer which go well alongside any Ashigaru soldiers. 

 

By request of the Flintloque community there will be an article comparing the recently re-mastered, expanded and re-released classic 5002 Deadloque Set characters with the current 5024 Escape the Dark Czar mortal characters. Despite having an age gap of some twenty years they go really well together as you will see. There is also the likelihood of a play though example article by author Vic Dobson of his USEME 6mm Science Fiction rules by gamers request. 

 

The culmination of Legion De Nain project which ran across from April 2021 to now is reached this month with the release of two different Slaughterloo Divisional Army Packs for the legion. One riding Pummilig Pigs, the other Boars and both giving units of line, grenadiers, cavalry, skirmishers, artillery crew, limber beasts, casualties, cannon and mounted officer with a significant saving. The largest army of black powder Dwarves in the whole world! News on this when it happens and the Bier Wars will continue during this year.

USEME UM016 6mm Science Fiction rules released

Back in April we put an article on on our BLOG with lots of new painted images of the great Bradley Miniatures 6mm science fiction range.  As well as the lovely looks we teased the appearance of a new USEME title in the series.  That new title is here; written by Vic Dobson who has created many free scenarios for USEME Starship Battles and USEME 15mm Science Fiction too (you can download these on the website). Pocket sized and still just 3.50GBP for a set of rules USEME is great fun. While the new rules feature the Bradley Miniatures range they are generic  in which you can use all your miniatures.  This is our sole release in May for this scale and genre.

UM016 USEME 6mm Science Fiction:  As with all the titles in the series this is a fast play one six sided dice set of rules for skirmish or battle level with your 6mm miniatures and also solo play too.  Single or linked games, create your forces and formulate campaigns with a simple set of points values applied to vehicle and troop types.  Optional rules and also four free scenarios which are hosted on its page on the website. The future warrior is great for near future, post apocalyptic, cyberpunk or other such systems and a fine addition to your collection. This month our mascot is inspired by the fantastic genre of movies and books which depict a future gone awry and in which the strong take what they can and the weak suffer what they must.  While such a world is not to be longed for and perhaps the cyberpunk one is more possible it is upon the tabletop that you wage your fights.  Alternia Future Warrior with her machine pistol and energised demi pike is in your corner.
