New 15mm Grey Aliens grav skimmer and portable weapon platforms

Your infantry need a light vehicle for fire support and some bigger guns to back them up when taking on the pesky Humans (such as the Security Force Alpha troopers, portable weapon platform and Charger APC pictured) and the flying saucers are out of range.  Check these out!

HOF153 Grey Alien Portable Weapons Platform. This pack contains a circular platform which floats and have a gun rail running around its circumference.  Also two Grey Alien gunners each holding a weapon which fits to the gun rail.  A fine light support vehicle.  In our images the skimmer is 40mm tall and 35mm wide. New Bases released 50mm square and 100mm rectangle

By request two new sizes of resin cartouche (rounded edges for easy lifting and placement into movement trays etc) bases added to the range.  Great for any game system in any scale you can see all of our bases in resin, metal and plastic HERE.  Read on for more information.

These larger sized bases are great for mounting multiple 28mm or 15mm miniatures or a single larger monster or vehicle.  As with all of our bases you have the option of a single pack or select on screen three packs and save 10%.  Our bases are square, rectangle and circle as well as other more specialised shapes and uses such as flight stands and anti-gravity mounts.

Element Bases for HOTT

We have five types of cartouche style element bases for use with HOTT 2nd Edition or with any other element using wargame system. Produced in high quality grey tone resin these bases all have a 40mm frontage and varying depths. These correspond exactly to the sizes used in HOTT and to the basing table for different troop types in the game; those being Letter A to Letter E. These bases are made of resin and are 3mm thick each with a different number and size of circular recesses on their ground textured upper surfaces. Each recess is made to fit either a 20mm round base or a 30mm round base.  These are durable and rugged which makes them ideal for your troops to be mounted into on their own bases.  We offer the Troop Element Bases in different sizes which are listed here by sub-code, number of recesses with sizing and number per pack.

HOF118 and HOF119 SFA Tracker Urban Bikes released!

Two new codes added to the HOF 15mm Science Fiction range for September 2018.  Our last release for the month at Alternative Armies.  Security Force Alpha (SFA) now has sleek powerful bikes to chase down targets in the city or on the battlefield.  These follow up on the SFA Portable Weapon Platforms with Gun Crew and the Tracked Bikes from previous releases and are great for any game system and fit right in with the rest of the array of the SFA. HOF119 SFA Tracker Urban Bike Command

This pack contains two resin 15mm scale wheeled bikes. One with a fully armoured SFA (Security Force Alpha) Trooper riding it bare headed.  One bike with no rider upon it. The bike is meant for high speed urban pursuit on Earth or any Colonial Planet and is armed with a side internal mounted projectile weapons.  It is at home in any near future setting. 5.00GBP per pack.  Go HERE.

HOF117 SFA Support Platform Platoon

This pack contains 15mm scale miniatures in high quality grey tone resin which are a part of Security Force Alpha (SFA).  Three different portable weapon platforms in kit form assembled from three pieces each.  A heavy calibre machine gun (0.50 Cal), an automatic grenade launcher (40mm) and an energy beamer (6kw). Six Human Gun Crew in equal number of two different poses both fully armoured SFA Troopers one standing and the other kneeling.  These heavy weapons are great for any setting.  Each platform has a footprint of 30mm across.  Supplied unassembled and unpainted and without bases.  All parts in this set (three platforms, six crew) are supplied on resin mounting blocks which you should remove with care and once you have the blocks make excellent concrete blocks in 15mm scale!  You can choose from the platoon pack or you can select one of the platforms only or a set of two gun crew only.  Select on the website page.

As we said the idea behind this new soldier is the classic Edwardian era created Infernal War serial which was published in 1908.  Written by Albert Robida and illustrated by Pierre Giffard this serial gave a different view of a possible future than that of H.G.Wells for example.  A world which never came but can act as a superb setting for 15mm scale wargaming.

EH04 Gore Worm by Craig Armstrong released!

“Galdar was strong and he was smart.  He walked the bad lands with cleaver and boom stick seeking the good things in the sun life.  The folks in Shan Diago among the toothy ruins of the old times had said not to walk the dirts of the highaways to the west.  Monsters were there they said.  Galdar had laughed at this and had his way with what the tribe could offer before moving on at dawn.  The revelry had cost him plastik and salt beef but it had been worth it.  Now he walked the dirt with the ruins far behind.  Nothing stirred.  No birds, nor running animals which was odd.  Much of the land was poisoned but stuff lived..not here though.  This was strange but he did not feel the sickness of the poison so he walked on.  Ignorant folk they were indeed and soon he was outside a large decayed building with many fallen red signs around its grounds and a mighty rent in its thick wall.  Galdar wondered if there was richness within and decided to try and seek it.  As he approached the soil under his feet began to vibrate and he stopped and drew his weapons; alert to danger.  He saw nothing.  Then the brown dirt broke apart and tentacles rose out of it only a short distance from his feet.  Galdar jumped back and was about to use his boom stick when he halted as its bullets were few and hard to get.  His blade would kill this thing.  As he rose the sharpened steel bar the ground under him suddenly gave way and he was falling!  The last thing young Galdar saw was a bony beak opening and then his flesh was torn and chewed.”

EH04 Gore Worm

Emerging from the ground the Gore Worm is a hunter without mercy.  It senses vibrations and seeks out prey before using its lashing out with rope like tongues and dragging its food to its hard bone beak to be crushed. This pack contains one white metal miniature supplied in several parts which require assembly. It is 17mm tall to top of beak and 25mm across the underside. Invading Space Brains released!

By Gor!  This is a fine day to be a wargamer.  Now released at Alternative Armies two new codes of Space Brains good for most scales and systems of tabletop gaming.  Sculpted by Kieran Billings (he of the Sand Worms and Big Mouth Beast) there are five lesser Brains all armed with exotic weapons and one big brain in total command with its psychic majesty.  Check them out HERE or read on for more information.

Alternative Armies ceases its association with Alien Squad Leader 17th March 2017

On the seventeen of March 2017 Alternative Armies is ending its association with Alex Self the author of Alien Squad Leader. During the years in which we have represented Alien Squad Leader we have enjoyed a good relationship with the author but now both parties feel it is time to move on. From the 17th of this month we will no longer stock or sell the Alien Squad Leader book (now in an electronic format) and all pre-packed armies for the game. 

We wish Alex Self every success in the future with his projects. For any further information on the game system please go to the Alien Squad Leader groups on Yahoo and on Facebook.
