Welcome to July 2023 and this month we are focusing upon Flintloque.  While other ranges will get new releases too it is the World of Valon where fans of Flintloque, Slaughterloo and more will get new, restored and free to enjoy.  Until the end of the July the brand new 56140 Fartinelli Operato Supremo (45mm total height worth 5.00GBP) is free in every order shipped automatically at the rate of one.  If your order is shipped then the Toad will be in it.  You need do nothing but order (no digital download only orders only sorry).  You can of course purchase it as well and you will still get one free in the package. He cuts a dashing poise eh!  Fartinelli is a one piece resin miniature which has a total height of 45mm to the top of his quiffed wig.  Sculpted by Mark Ricketts (the same sculptor who made the Londinium Coach and our HOF 15mm Alien Greys) a fun Big Todoroni which is at home in Flintloque, Slaughterloo or just in your collection if you want something rather different to paint up.  Shown with ALT007 Alternia Black Powder for scale.  She is one of our Alternia Mascots all which all came out in 2022.

What is Happening in July 2023

This month we have a further new Todoroni character miniature by Nikki Chatwin as well as the return of the classic 1990's and long absent Czalingrad Character Pack for Flintloque. There are free downloads giving character stats in play for the new Todoroni miniatures and a full Flintloque scenario involving the Londinium Coach; escorting Orc Dragoons and a Hob Goblin tax collector

Away from Valon we have another new value skirmish pack in the HOF 15mm Science Fiction Range this time for the re-mastered Zidhe Space Elves plus new pictures of all their codes.  There are new miniatures for Erin Celtic Mythology as we present further Pukki this time they are the bearers for Fomorian Storm Warriors.  The Star Rangers in the Alternate Stars 28mm Science Fiction Range get a couple more poses to add to those from last month.  Lastly our overhaul of the massive 28mm scale Ion Age Range is nearing its end and in July the twenty eight Shia Khan Legionaries will become singles and value packs plus a saver platoon in parts 12 and 13 of the project. All of these items will get its own news during the month.

Alternia Gift Giver free in all December orders and end of the Alternia Year

Jingle the bells!  It is December and that means not only a new month but also the last of the twelve months of the 'Alternia Year' which we have held at Alternative Armies.  Each month of 2022 saw a 28mm mascot miniature of a lovely lady in themed garb being included for free in every order shipped out during that month.  See all the previous Alternias on the website and this last latest one.

ALT012 Alternia Gift Giver. Alternia is Alternative Armies mascot and this is her thirteenth incarnation. This time our lady of Alternative Armies was inspired by the most joyous season of the year and time to give gifts and spend time with friends and loved ones.  A female take on the great giver of presents which is supplied in one piece metal.  Dressed in armour with her long hair put under a sock hat she has an arrow headed spear with a sprig of mistletoe upon it and an open sack showing wrapped presents. A great miniature for collecting and painting.

Brand new in our Seasons of Celebration Range which is where our codes for Christmas, Summer, Easter, Halloween and more in 15mm and 28mm scales are located are an asked for release.  SN11 Festive Pukki a set of five or singles giving you little Fomorians from the Erin Celtic Myth range kitted out in hats with presents and Christmas puddings or candy canes.  Great fun.

ALT011 Alternia Cyberpunk: Alternia is our mascot and this is her twelfth incarnation. This time our lady of Alternative Armies was inspired by a genre of miniatures we have not really touched upon but we felt was rather fitting. Much like Steampunk (ALT009) the genre of Cyberpunk can often be lacking professional female characters so here she is! 

 

 

Supplied in one piece metal this miniature is dressed in a long duster type coat and net shades plus some body armour. She carries a tech deck and a powered blade with arrow head. A great miniature for collecting, painting or using in any tech future setting. Worth 3.00GBP.

Season of the Witch! A wee bit of fun with a take on a halloween classic the broomstick riding female caster of hexes and spells. Our lady of Alternative Armies this time rides upon a metal broom with an arrow head upon it. She wears a long cloak and has a suitable hat upon her head. Her 'broom' lifts from the ground on magical energy.   In the above picture she leaves behind a skeleton from the VNT47 Dem Bones set.

 

Supplied in one piece (the miniature, the plume of magic energy down to the pumpkins on the base) a 28mm scale metal miniature. A lovely figure to add to your collection. Supplied unpainted and without a base (shown on a 30mm round resin base).

This month our lady of Alternative Armies was inspired by a genre of miniatures we have not really touched upon but we felt was rather fitting.  Ladies can lug around giant wrenches just as well as any man can so in an alternate history which features boilers and vessels, mechanical marvels and rivets here she is! Supplied in one piece metal Alternia wears an open military style great coat and a stovepipe hat complete with goggles.  She holds an open pocket watch and an arrow headed staff or tool. A great miniature for collecting, painting or using in a 19th century imagi-nations game. 

This ninth incarnation joins the previous which are on the website for purchase as single miniatures. The Highlander, the Landsknecht, the Erin lady, the Easter Girl, the Future Warrior, Knight of The Ion Age, Black Powder and Beach Huntress. There are now a total of ten including the very first original high fantasy pose. 

Taking an eye glass to our ranges we thought that the AS003 Cyborg Enslaver could easily fit into a steampunk setting as a mechanical servant or bodyguard.  From the Reluctant Brigands pack FL26-01 makes a fine henchman or robber.  Lastly the mighty HOF142 Mecha X1 with its humanoid head (rather than the saucer shaped one which suits space opera) suits a 90mm tall creation of iron and coal.

Alternative Armies News for September 2022 

Due to the death of her highness the late Queen Elizabeth II on the 8th September and the period of shock and official mourning which has followed Alternative Armies has rightly changed and reduced the original plan for this month.  Releases meant for September will now come in October 2022.  The company will recommence news on Wednesday 21st September for the following. 

We have three lots of remastered and returned Asgard 28mm miniatures in the FM Fantasy range which will see us well into the FM30's.  This work is continuing well and we hope to get more re-releases each month until years end.  The HOT 15mm Fantasy range will see a resumption of the Savage Lizardmen army and its growth.  USEME series will get another complete starter set of miniatures, booklet, scenarios and so forth with a saving too; look out for 'Compound Interest'.

It is the Summer Mega Event 2022 month with all the awesome and new that entails.  Alongside the over thirty new releases the eighth of twelve brand new Alternia our mascot miniature has arrived.  It is high summer and her moment in the sun is now.  The Beach Huntress is all about the strange and the odd with a hint of eldritch horror.  See her and her sisters HERE.

Heading down to the beach dressed for the high summer Alternia takes her arrow headed harpoon but it is not fish she is after.  The Huntress seeks far weirder prey indeed.  From the foam of the sea come Eldritch Horrors of many types and forms.  The Flower of Evil will take the minds of many if not stopped.  Tentacles emerge from the base of the miniature

EH01 Flower of Evil was the first code in the 'EH' range and you can see it next to the Beach Huntress above. It was followed by the sheer oddity of the EH03 Space Brains and the terrifying EH02 Big Space Brain (which makes an excellent overlord for your Grey Aliens in 15mm scale too).  EH04 Gore Worm will grab you and consume!  EH05 Giant Arachnids and EH06 Arachnid Swarm give anyone the creeps in any scale.  Lastly as seen above the weirdness of EH07 Eyetan an orb of massive vision.

Another horror which the Beach Huntress could encounter would be a Sandworm Swarm or a Giant Sandworm too.

The future warrior is great for near future, post apocalyptic, cyberpunk or other such systems and a fine addition to your collection. This month our mascot is inspired by the fantastic genre of movies and books which depict a future gone awry and in which the strong take what they can and the weak suffer what they must.  While such a world is not to be longed for and perhaps the cyberpunk one is more possible it is upon the tabletop that you wage your fights.  Alternia Future Warrior with her machine pistol and energised demi pike is in your corner.
