Thulgs and One Eyed Glax return Tabletop Games and Asgard Science Fiction

Now restored and on the Alternative Armies website three more classic miniatures by Tabletop Games and Asgard.  As we continue to restore the 1980's 25mm to 28mm scale metal figures these follow up on the Large Sadistic Demons and the Szithks Warbirds, the Gorgory and Orts.

This time it is two Thulgs giant reptilian aliens and the One Eyed Glax a strange creature indeed.  See what is in this combined range HERE on the website.

TSF50 Thulg bounty Hunter with heavy gyro bolt pistol and power mace.  Standing 50mm tall this large reptilian alien is by Tabletop Games and comes from the Laserburn range; a larger incarnation of the 15mm scale Thulg.  Great for any system.

TSF51 Thulg bounty hunter in partial light armour and gyro pistol. Standing 50mm tall this large reptilian alien is by Tabletop Games and comes from the Laserburn range; a larger incarnation of the 15mm scale Thulg.  Great for any system.

SF30 One Eyed Glax.  A strange alien creature armed with a laser pistol.  Standing 22mm tall to the top of its body this miniature from Asgard and is great in any game system.

The miniature used for a 28mm scale comparison is an Ion Age 28mm scale Retained Knight (IB23).

Some of the finest miniatures from the 1980's decade, in our opinion, the Warbirds and Gorgory are right at home on any gaming table. These were a pleasure to restore to the world and we will continue with further returned classics across this year.

Space Cattle HOF 15mm painted by Allison MacKay

It is my great delight to present to you a little tale of galactic intrigue and corporate greed.  Enjoy!  GBS

The dark secret of the demise of Paragon Exoplanetary's Corporation's terraformer pig colony did not remain hidden for long.  Independent hacker-journalists raided the corporate servers and leaked hundreds of files detailing not only the pigs' extensive genetic alterations, but also the bio-engineered paramyxovirus that suddenly killed them all just as they finished their terraforming work.

In a big galaxy, the leak didn't make headlines everywhere, but the news did reach the vast pastoral agri-colonies operated by The Green World Inc.  There, genetically enhanced cattle who farmed themselves for milk became outraged by the murder of their fellow livestock.  With the help of sympathetic human farmhands, they hacked their restraining implants and, using seized and improvised weapons, took over the colonies and declared independence from the company...

These amazing figures are HOF161 Uplifted Cattle part of the Grey Alien Army.

52524 Legion de Nain Grenadiers released and the Bier Wars

“I think that if the peoples of the Krautan League had known what Mordred meant by freedom and liberty they would have tore the ears off any Elf they met.  As it was the agents of Armorica used us Dwarves as willing participants in our own downfall.  Blood followed Krolsberg beer into the rivers and soil as we were divided and fought amongst ourselves. We were all brother regardless of beard length. The Battle of Worstweiser saw two legions face off as mortal enemies.  Liberty said the Elves...a confederation of slaves was the end result of the Bier Wars.” Harold Brekmeister the learned Dwarf  (historian and scholar at Monich University)

The Legion de Nain grows with the second brand new full unit release in the Beir Wars; this time the Legion de Nain Grenadiers!  Every one of these Dwarves is a character in its own right full of personality.  If missed what has already occurred, new Legion de Nain Line,  re-mastered classic and expanded Legion codes and new Pummilig Pig plus Riding Boar you can read about these on our blog on the Beir Wars TAB.  Go HERE for the Confederation of Finklestein on the website where all these miniatures reside.

52524 Legion de Nain Grenadiers: This is the heavy assault company of a legion battalion armed with Blunderbuss and Grenades dressed for all weathers in long coat, boots and the Raupenhelm (caterpillar helmet).  An Officer foot on stone with a war hammer, Banner Bearer with Blunderbuss, Sergeant thrusting with Halberd and a Musician beating the drum.  Four different poses of grenadier trooper these being throwing grenade, lighting grenade, aiming grenade (all with blunderbuss) and firing blunderbuss.  All have packs on their backs and items such as bed rolls and satchels about their persons.

You can choose from a pack of ten miniatures (all eight poses plus two more random troopers) or a unit of twenty (ten more troopers with a saving built in) or a single booster of one pose.  Order the single and you will get one random trooper, order more singles and we will give you different troopers.  If you want a command pose single that is explained the page. Go HERE for 52524 and scroll through the pictures on its page as after the main images there is a front and rear of every pose so that you can see them in great detail.  Check out those beards!

The Legion de Nain Line!  The first new unit code in the Beir Wars project.

As we progress in this year more releases will happen monthly as we expand the Legion de Nain and work towards it as a full force of all arms (the biggest ever expansion to the miniature range for a single army) we will also be slowly putting together a Flintloque campaign book on the Monich Beir War too.  Resident Valonian artist Edward Jackson will once again be creating artwork for this title.  Follow this on the Bier Wars TAG of our blog.

There are now thirty poses in the Legion. Above is General Saindoux an Elf character from 5024 Escape the Dark Czar next to grenadier Dwarves for scale.

If you would like to get into Flintloque in the lands of the Dwarfs then look no further than 5028 Beir and Bones game book.  On its own with full rules in print or as a digital download or as a shilling starter pack with miniatures and scenarios.  Go HERE.

If you have any questions please contact us on and ask.

These new chaps are the Bombe!

Valon Villagers and Orc Militia for Flintloque

Alternative Armies is delighted to present two further restored codes for the World of Valon in new molds with new images.  These follow up on the Deserter Army of Obidiah and on the twelve classic packs which returned in March too.

All adding to Flintloque and to Slaughterloo choice for players in the realm of Orcs of Albion and typical folks to be found near battlefields.

58102 Valon Villagers: This returned and expanded pack gives you four different 28mm scale metal miniatures. An Orc wench in dress and bonnet, Elf woodsman or sailor with axe, Orc bandit or hunter with crossbow and lastly Elf villager with short pike.  Very useful in your games.  You can choose the pack or singles from the pack on its page.  Go HERE.

54514 Orc Militia: The Fencibles are the poorest quality Orcish soldiers and often privately raised. Meant only to serve at home in Albion they can sometimes travel to the front lines of the war. This restored code contains seven different poses and can be had as a skirmish pack of eight, a unit of twenty or single poses by choice.  There is a saving in the unit sized choice for Slaughterloo or big games of Flintloque.  Led by an Orc Gentleman who paid to raise them there are three poses of trooper with musket plus a bare headed trooper and a sitting trooper.  Lastly a larger muscular Orc Sergeant.  Make your choices on the page HERE.

We hope you enjoy these restored miniatures and these are most suited to 5025 War in Catalucia and 5020 Slaughterloo which can be had in print or as digital downloads with a saving.

Our next and last news for Flintloque this month will be the brand new release of the next unit in the Legion de Nain this week....

Ion Age 28mm Range price increase in July 2021

Alternative Armies has a huge array of miniatures to choose from and we pride ourselves upon offering good service and good prices too.  Sadly we will have to make an increase in the price of the entirety of the two hundred poses of the 28mm Ion Age range.  Prices will increase for packs and for single poses within packs too. The average increase will be from 2.00GBP to 2.50GBP and from 3.00GBP to 3.50GBP and so forth; about 20%.  We have not increased these prices for over five years and it will occur in the first week of July.

There is a lot to choose from in the range from the power armoured Retained Knights to the clam shell armoured Muster troops and the Plantetary Militia.  There are also the Marcher Barons and Errant Knights plus super heavy Desteria Armour kits.  The Khanate Empire has its legionaries and pioneers as well as Drop Troops in powered armour and mighty Warlords. Lastly Betrayer Humans for urban skirmish and the Malig Space Goblins.  See them all HERE.

Cesare Borgia on foot and mounted 15mm scale released

Alternative Armies in support of the expanding Renaissance range is delighted to present the first of our 'MRP' series of 15mm scale personalities of the period.  Who better to begin this than with one of the most infamous persons of the age Cesare Borgia.  Go HERE for the range or read on for more information.

Born in 1475 the son of a cardinal in a wealthy and powerful family Cesare Borgia was in his mid twenties when his father became Pope (Alexander VI).  After becoming a cardinal himself he then became Captain General of the Papal Army and married in 1499.  Made Duke of the Valentinois his main task in his new role was to try and restore effective papal control of the Papal States, and at the same time create a base for a Borgia dynasty in the Romagna. He also conquered the duchies of Umbria and Emilia. His conquests were greatly aided by the French, who contributed troops for his conquests of Imola and Forli and his battles in Rimini, Pesaro and Faenza. He also accompanied the French during their 1501 invasion of the kingdom of Naples. Cesare gained a reputation for ruthlessness, demonstrated when he murdered his sister Lucrezia's second husband, illegitimate son of the King of Naples who had become a political embarrassment. In 1503 Alexander died. Cesare had hoped to create a hereditary principality in central Italy, but his illness meant that he was unable to compete with his father's rival Giuliano della Rovere. In 1503 della Rovere became Pope Julius II. Cesare was removed from all of his posts, lost control of his fortresses, and was forced into exile. Cesare died in a fight in 1507.

Cesare became the model for Machiavelli's Prince, portrayed as a man of brilliant ruthlessness but dubious achievements. He was also a patron of the arts, employing Leonardo de Vinci as an architect, engineer and city planner.

MRP01 Cesare Borgia (Foot and Mounted)

This code contains three miniatures in 15mm scale.  Cesare Borgia on foot and as a rider along with a horse. A personality miniature to use any game system or to add to your collection.  Use him in Furioso!  Supplied unpainted.  Go HERE.

This concludes our 15mm Historical releases for the month of June 2021.
